Create Bootable Media Using Rufus

If you want to create a media installation on USB drive, you can used Rufus to create the bootable media for you instead of burning the ISO to disc. It is more practical unless you want to keep the disc.



1. To create the installation media, Go-to Rufus download page to download the application.

2. Under the Download section, select the latest release of Rufus to download.


3. Then, plug in your USB flash drive and launch the tool once the download completed.


4. On Rufus application, select which device to be use from the drop down list button then click SELECT to browse the ISO Image.

5. Select Standard Windows Installation at the Image Option,  GPT on Partition Scheme and UEFI (non CSM) on target system.

6. Under Format Options, enter volume label to your preferences, then leave other setting to default.

6. Once ready, click START to begin the media creation.

7. Rufus will prompt a warning message, click OK to continue


8. The process will start and wait until it finished. Once complete, the bootable media can be use to perform an upgrade or clean install of Windows 10.


To use rufus is not limited to Windows ISO only, you can use any ISO image to be extracted into the USB flash drive for example Linux, CentOS or etc.
