Change Case in Microsoft Excel

Imagine if you have a multiple text with mix capitalization inside your worksheet. What will you do to achieve cleaner formatting of your text. Will you retype the whole text again or edit each of the text? Super messy right.

As you know, Microsoft Excel doesn't have a change case button like Microsoft Word, so to do a proper capitalization formatting, we need to use the function call UPPER, LOWER, and PROPER that can change the text to uppercase, lowercase, or proper case.

First, we take a look on how to use PROPER function:

1. First, insert a temporary blank column next to the text that you want to change

2. Than enter the equal (=) sign and function (PROPER) in the blank column with the cell no of the text that you want to change and press enter.

This formula will converts the text to a proper case. To change the remaining text is simply by copy the first formula and paste it on the remaining cell.

3. When you done with the converting, select and copy all the values in column G then click Paste Options - Values on column F. This step enables you to paste just the value and not the formulas. Once done, you can delete the temporary column (Column G) as you won't need it.

4. Next, to change the text to UPPERCASE or lowercase, the step are the same as above but only change the PROPER function to UPPER or lower

UPPER FUNCTION
LOWER FUNCTION

Super easy right rather than retyping the whole thing again later I will make a video for this post. Stay tuned.
